Fought near Uglegorsk, Debaltsevo and Redcode, where his group is actually "pulled" from the circle of boys from the 25th battalion "Kyivska Rus". After the tragedy near Ilovaysk his group was accompanied and facilitated the RAID 79th and 95th brigades in the area of the enemy near Granite, indicated place for the construction of water barriers. The commander went there first and left last.

So, before taking Dzerzhinsk, Shevchenko alone, in civilian clothes, went to the town to assess the situation and the rebels controlled objects. Thereafter, a consolidated group of 33 people under his command entered the Dzerzhinsk to bypass separatist checkpoints, through the fields, and in half an hour raised the Ukrainian flag over the government buildings. After that, the soldiers had almost eight hours to wait for the arrival of the main forces of Ukraine.

It's been 7 hours and 40 minutes of continuous fire from tanks, small arms, anti-tank guided missiles. 33 people were opposed to 200 fighters, 2 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. Only the city Council, where he took up the defense of the seals, tanks gave 29 shots. When the enemy came close, Shevchenko ordered the men to hide in the basement, and he climbed to the roof of the building to call the fire itself. Everything was burning and was in a smoke – then another week the commander coughed himself black toxic substance. However, it is the actions of the squad in Dzerzhinsk inflicted considerable losses on the enemy and allowed our army to take the city under their control.

About Shevchenko and his men still have a lot of stories – those that call exploits and someday, many years from now, describe in textbooks on history and military science.
