The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree on conferring the title of Hero of Ukraine award “gold star” spetsnaz Colonel Igor Gordiychuk.

The corresponding decree was published on the website of the President.

Colonel Igor Gordiychuk participated in many operations during ATO, led a team of special forces during the execution of the tasks in the rear of the enemy, commanded a fighting lesson Saur-Grave. Personally headed the special forces, performing in-depth exploration far beyond the front line.

“During the 12 days of continuous fighting Colonel Gordiychuk heroically held the position, despite injuries and a concussion,” reads the document.
