President Petro Poroshenko met with the military, which protects the Donetsk airport, and volunteers who help to provide for all their needs.

Petro Poroshenko particularly noted the role of volunteers in providing the army. According to him, more than 80% of Ukrainians in different forms provided assistance to the Armed Forces. The President believes an effective initiative to attract volunteers to provide military in the structure of the Ministry of defence and the Armed Forces.

Present at the meeting, the chief of staff Viktor Murzenko stressed that, despite the problems with maintenance and combat readiness of the army grows. Donetsk airport is really a symbol of courage and military spirit, high moral fortitude and testimony to the readiness of our soldiers," said he.

The President presented awards to the defenders of the Donetsk airport and volunteers.
