The law provides for the delivery of weapons to the amount of $350 million over three years to help in the fight against corruption in the energy sector

The Ministry of foreign Affairs explained that the Law allows "the Support of the Ukrainian freedom", passed by the U.S. Congress. This reports the press service of the Ministry reported.

The law, in particular, provides for the possibility of granting Ukraine military equipment and services, including antitank weapons, radar systems to combat artillery, tactical reconnaissance UAV, secure communications, and assistance in the training of the Ukrainian military.

Within 60 days after the entry into force of the Law, the President of the United States shall submit to Congress a list of necessary military equipment and services, as well as payment dates for the related work. With this purpose, the State Department allocated $350 million, which can be used by the end of 2017. $100 million will be allocated in 2015 fiscal year, $125 million in 2016 and 2017.

In the U.S. budget also established funds to provide Ukraine with technical assistance in strengthening energy security and the development of civil society. To reduce Ukraine's dependency on energy exports, the United States will assist the Ukrainian government in the development of medium-and long-term plans for energy efficiency and energy production. To this end, 2016-2018 financial year expenditure in the amount of $50 million

"Ukraine welcomes the approval by Congress of the Law "Support for Ukrainian freedom", which creates the necessary legal framework for the expansion of aid to Ukraine and the introduction of additional sanctions against Russia. We regard the adoption of the mentioned law as a clear signal of support from U.S. lawmakers and the American people in Ukraine, as well as a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their quest to independently choose their own future," said the foreign Ministry.

A law enacted by Congress must be signed by the President of the USA Barack Obama.

Let's remind, on December 11, the Senate passed a bill "an Act in support of freedom of Ukraine for 2014". The bill provides for the granting Ukraine a significant financial aid, lethal weapons and defines Ukraine as a special partner of the United States outside NATO. December 12, the House of representatives changed the bill, clearing out the status of Ukraine as an ally of the United States outside NATO, but kept the amount of military aid to $350 million, the Russian foreign Ministry expressed "deep regret" in connection with the adoption of the law.
