Ukraine must cease dependence on imported Russian component, which needs a Ukrainian weapons.

The situation is that one of the main priorities that we will put in front of our defence industry is to break the need for imported Russian component, which is needed to Ukrainian weapons. This is a real problem. We urgently need to restore domestic counterparts such weapons or move completely to NATO standards," he said.

According to him, the problem of military-technical assistance appeared to Ukraine at the beginning of the year. "And, unfortunately, with regard to lethal weapons or even one gun - I'm not talking about more serious things - was not supplied. Ukraine relied on their efforts. But this is wrong," Turchynov believes.

He recalled that the strategic partners acted as the guarantors of the security of Ukraine, when she renounced nuclear weapons. "That is why I very much welcome the decision by the United States, and we hope that this law will be signed by President Obama, and we will begin a system of military-technical cooperation. I hope that the United States will join the European countries. Because the Russian aggression is a threat not only Ukraine. In fact, Russia broke the whole system of collective security in Europe, they had destroyed the entire order, formed after the Second world war. And today Ukraine is actually for the civilized world," he said.
