The authorities of the Russian Federation miscalculated with costs on their adventures in Ukraine, which today have to pay the whole country.

According to the Censor.NET with reference to Radio Liberty, this was announced today by assistant Secretary of state for Europe and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland.

According to her, we are talking not only about the material means for the maintenance of tens of thousands of Russian soldiers on the border with Ukraine or Crimea, but also about the negative consequences of sanctions and international isolation.

"Now, when the ruble is devalued, inflation is rising, the cost of credit increases, these effects reached the dining tables of the Russians," said Nuland, speaking at the American enterprise Institute.

And she stressed that the U.S. does not intend to harm the Russian people. The current situation in Russia is only the result of the choice of the country, the official said, noting that over the past 23 years the United States has given Russia an estimated 200 billion dollars.
