The President of Ukraine at a meeting with Alexander Lukashenko said that Kyiv is ready to assist the Belarusian side in the normalization of relations with the EU

Ukraine can contribute to the development of Belarus ' relations with the EU within the Eastern partnership, the President said Petro Poroshenko. "We are interested in the support of Belarus, if it deems it possible, in the development of relations within the Eastern partnership," he said during talks between delegations of the two countries in an expanded format, reports the press service of the President of Ukraine.

As Poroshenko stressed, we are talking about the mechanisms of the beneficial use of technology, legislation, financial resources at different levels of partnership. "From integrated management, completing energy efficiency. We have achieved sufficient progress in this area," said Poroshenko.

The delegations of the two countries discussed a range of issues of cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus, including on cooperation in the fuel and energy sphere, and the sphere of security, interregional cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering.

"Today we do not allow the fall turnover with Belarus and even ensured its growth. I want to declare that Ukraine is sincerely interested in trade, economic, political and defence relations developed with maximum intensity," he said Poroshenko.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarus is a reliable, honest partner of Ukraine in political and economic issues. "We are absolutely transparent. We can fully count on it," he said.

During the negotiations the parties reached agreements on information cooperation. We are talking about the broadcasting of one of the Ukrainian TV channels on the territory of Belarus for objective coverage of events in Ukraine.

Earlier, the President of Belarus said that Ukraine is the only country that fully performs its obligations and is calculated with the Belarusian side on contracts in all spheres of bilateral cooperation.
