Starting from 1 January 2016 European and international technical standards (normative documents) will be used on the territory of Ukraine to replace the existing national thestandards.

According to the Censor.NET, the decision, approved by order No. 1493 of the Ministry of economic development and trade, was published on 5 January on the website.

These changes will be introduced in accordance with the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which was ratified by Parliament on 16 September 2014, reminiscent of the Ministry.

As is known, Ukraine, Russia and the EU agreed that the implementation of the economic part of the Association Agreement will be delayed until 2016. Adaptation of thestandards is part of the "deferred" provisions of the agreement. However, by order of the Ministry of economy, preparing for implementation of the economic part should be done now. According to the order, the Department of technical regulation and Metrology of the Ministry shall publish on the official website of the office for a list of changes in the national technical standards.

At the same time, the national standards body "Ukrainian scientific-research and training center for standardization, certification and quality" for 2015 must detail the relevant changes in technical standards and to provide all available information to producers, market participants, exporters and other business entities.
The adaptation of the European thestandards is designed to facilitate the entry of Ukrainian producers on the European market.
The decision of the Ministry applies only to non-food production. For manufacturers of food (including agricultural) products, subject to other regulations and phytosanitary standards.
