Russia for its military aggression in Ukraine can be disconnected from the world system of interbank telecommunications of SWIFT after all. The Kommersant told the Russian edition the source close to U.S. State Department about it.

"It (shutdown - red) would be very painful (for the Russian Federation - red)", - he told, having reminded that similar measures were already taken concerning Iran. The source doubts that the European Union in which there is the main office of SWIFT, will take such measures. However the USA in the matter can independently work. So, the authorities of the States can forbid interaction through SWIFT to the American and Russian banks directly, in the form of the directive, or by impact on work of the operational center SWIFT in the USA through which there is an interaction of the American banks with the foreign.

Let's note, the European Parliament recommended to disconnect Russia from the SWIFT services twice. However in the fall the company operator refused to do it. The second recommendation of European Parliament in SWIFT was not commented. In the Russian Federation since fall started talking about alternatives of this system. So, the VTB group declared that conducts on it negotiations with Sberbank. Besides, the central banks of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation discussed abilities to integrate national payment systems, and also possibility of creation on their base of analog of SWIFT.

According to the chairman of National council of the financial market Andrey Yemelin, completely it is not possible to replace SWIFT with a certain national system.
