The president Petro Poroshenko did not accept the proposal of the Russian colleague Vladimir Putin to consider as the line of delimitation the actual line of contact: the Ukrainian leader insists on return of the parties to the boundaries determined by the Minsk Memorandum.

In the letter the president of Ukraine reminds of commitment of the Ukrainian party to "full and unconditional implementation of the Minsk arrangements". He also reminded that during a meeting of Foreign Ministers in "a Norman format" in Berlin on January 21 the Russian minister "S. V. Lavrov expressed commitment of the Russian side to the Minsk documents and emphasized that branch of means of defeat in caliber will take place over 100 mm from the line of contact fixed in the Minsk Memorandum from 19 senyabrya 2014" (it is allocated - the Edition).

The president of Ukraine noted that the latest tragic events in Ukraine, in particular "confirmed with conclusions of Special monitoring mission of OSCE" attack of Mariupol "by fighters from illegal paramilitary groups", demand "urgent implementation of exhaustive measures for renewal of a ceasefire regime and the beginning of realization of all actions provided by the Minsk arrangements".

The president of Ukraine also considers expedient "already in the nearest future" to hold consultations of Tripartite contact group .

Also Poroshenko "using the presented opportunity", appealed to Putin "about release of the citizen of Ukraine Nadezhda Savchenko who is held in custody in the Russian Federation in view of deterioration of a state of her health" (it is allocated - the Edition). However, said in interview to the Polish TV channel TVN-24 of P. Poroshenko that in the letter he "demanded not only ceasefire and implementation of the Minsk arrangements, but also release of Nadezhda Savchenko and all hostages" (it is allocated - the Edition) .
