Poroshenko signed the Law on creation of joint Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian crew

The president signed the Law "About Ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, the Government of the Republic of Poland about Creation of Joint Military Unit", the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state reports, the Censor.NET.

The agreement provides creation of joint Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian military unit of brigade level and defines general purpose, the principles of activity, the decision-making order, safety and other organizational actions connected with activity of crew.

The crew is created for the purpose of participation in the international operations performed on the basis of the mandate of the UN Security Council and decisions of authorized bodies of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. The agreement is opened for accession of other states by the joint invitation of the parties.

The structure, completing, arms, military equipment and other aspects of functioning of crew are defined by the separate technical agreement between bodies which realize a state policy in the sphere of defense of the State Parties.

Command of crew will settle down in the Polish city of Lublin. On command of crew the legislation of Poland, and also the relevant provisions of international law extends.

Each of the states parties is responsible for financial security of own divisions which are a part of crew during joint trainings and doctrines, preparation and direct participation in operations.

This agreement was signed by Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania in Warsaw on September 19, 2014 and ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on February 4, 2015.
