Fluent Victor Yanukovych was only an obedient puppet in hands of Russia.

It was declared by the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a ceremony of delivery of the state awards to members of families of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred, the Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the head of state.

"It is now finally clear that we on the Maidan struggled not with Yanukovych a year ago. He was only a cruel and obedient puppet. Aggression of Russia against Ukraine began even with failure of signing of the Agreement on association with the European Union which had to take place in Vilnius. In Moscow prepared for elimination and worry of Ukraine to the Maidan victory. They expected Yanukovych's falling any day - and accelerated the course of events", - he noted. 

"From those tragic events when each of you lost the dear people, and all Ukraine - the best sons and daughters, the whole year expired. But doesn't pass - and will never pass! - deep pain from that irrevocable loss. All country bows to light memory of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred. I don't find words to console you because such words can't be found. Such words simply don't exist! From now on and until the end of life of Ukraine everyone will be marked out on February 20 Day of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred who gave the life during Revolution of Advantage, protecting Ukraine. Thanks to their self-sacrifice we live and we breathe, and we have unique chance to change the country to the best, and God forbid to us to lose it", - he added.
