
The European Union has adopted a decision, which extended sanctions against annexed Crimea until June 23, 2016.
According to Сensor.NET, the decision was made on Friday in Brussels at the meeting of the Council on economic and financial issues without discussion.The sanctions apply to the following economic activities:
- import of products produced in Crimea or Sevastopol, in the EU;
- investment in Crimea or Sevastopol, including a ban on the purchase by nationals or companies of the EU real estate or businesses in Crimea, Finance Crimean companies or supply of services;
- tourist services in Crimea or Sevastopol, including a ban on the entry of European cruise ports in the Crimean Peninsula, except for emergencies;
- export of certain goods and technologies to Crimean companies or for use in the Crimean transport, telecommunications and energy sectors, and which relate to the development, exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources. Services of technical assistance, brokering, construction or engineering that relate to the infrastructure in these sectors, is also prohibited.
We will remind, on March 19, 2015 the Council of the EU announced that the EU continues to condemn the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation and fully adheres to its policy of non-recognition.
