Assistant Secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland attacked the work of the Prosecutor General's office in fighting corruption.

In her statement, she noted that, like the police, the Prosecutor General's office need to be built up again as the institution that protects citizens, and not to Rob society. In her opinion, the newly created office of the inspector General within the GPU must be able to work without political or judicial interference.

Also, she reminded about procurement reform and management of revenues in the gas sector and unbundling of services, along with restructuring of "Naftogaz" until June 2016.

To succeed as a democratic, prosperous European state, the Ukrainian government must continue to fulfill promises to his people and to preserve the confidence of the international community, the statement said.
