The Ministry of foreign Affairs recommends citizens of Ukraine when planning trips to the Russian Federation to realistically assess the risks and existing threats and to weigh carefully the need for such travel.

This is stated in сообщении of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry, reports «GLORY TO UKRAINE»ICF

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine notes with concern that the continuing cases of arbitrary detention of Ukrainian citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation, the lack of humane treatment of the Ukrainians by the Russian law enforcement bodies, they are incompatible with human dignity behavior, the application to our compatriots unacceptable methods of physical and psychological effects, including torture.

In particular, in recent years, cases of detention/arrest of citizens of Ukraine, among the personal belongings which allegedly found foreign objects, including drugs, "planted" by third parties during their entry or stay in the territory of the Russian Federation. In this regard, to avoid unlawful deprivation of liberty in such cases, must be vigilant and attentive in contacts with any unauthorized persons, including officials of the Russian Federation, authorized holds customs, passport and all other controls.

In addition, the Ministry of foreign Affairs warning about the prevalence of involvement in criminal activity for the illegal transportation of narcotic substances, including the Russian Federation, by providing recruitment, freight forwarders for goods delivery to CIS countries. For the last time the foreign Ministry has repeatedly received complaints of family members of freight forwarders who are citizens of Ukraine about the arrest's relatives in the Russian Federation on charges of illegal the territory of Kaliningrad on the territory of the Russian Federation of narcotic substances in shipments which they were transported.

With the account of the specified foreign Ministry recommends citizens will exhibit increased caution and vigilance in case of receipt of proposals from the intermediary structures or individuals regarding the transportation of goods across the border.

These actions, as well as numerous facts of a failure to notify the diplomatic and consular offices of Ukraine in the Russian Federation on the detention of Ukrainian citizens, the failure to ensure their inherent right to meet with consular officials, the Russian side grossly violated the universal norms of international law in the sphere of observance of the rights and freedoms of the individual, as well as its international legal obligations under the Vienna Convention on consular relations 1963 and Consular Convention between Ukraine and the Russian Federation of 1993.
