Eliseev surprised that the foreign Minister of Germany has acted against Ukraine's membership in the Alliance

In Ukraine, more and more doubt in the policy of the Federal government of Germany, in particular because of the words of the Minister of foreign Affairs Frank-Walter of Steinmeier, who voted against membership of Kiev in NATO. "I cannot understand why the Minister of foreign Affairs of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier eliminates the possibility of NATO membership," the wonders of the Ukrainian diplomat.

He recalled that each partner country must respect the sovereign choice of Ukraine.

"No country has the right to stand in the way of Ukraine in the Alliance and, consequently, a better future. Moreover, the prospect of NATO membership will help Ukraine to pursue political and economic reforms to modernize the security forces and the army, as well as to adapt to European and transatlantic values," said Elisha.

Ukrainian representative in the EU also called for Germany to ratify the Association agreement. He recalled that so far the Protocol has been ratified by only 6 countries.

"The agreement with the EU on political, judicial and economic reforms won't do anything, if it does not ratify such an important country as Germany. This will only strengthen Russia's position and weaken Ukraine," the diplomat said.

According to Eliseeva, the EU should "surprise" Russia for its strong and active actions in support of Ukraine. Such a surprise, in his opinion, can be called, passing in the Ukrainian army defensive armament. At the same time, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the non-aligned status did not guarantee the safety of the country, so from this we should give up and focus on achieving NATO membership. Previously Poroshenko in his address to the delegates of the parliamentary Assembly of NATO said choosable integration of Ukraine in NATO.
